Three bathrooms, two projects.

Taken back to structure and rebuilt. Move through the frames, or filter down to a single room, a single stage, or just the finished work.

Ensuite and second bath

Two bathrooms in one condominium, taken from demolition to handover. Large-format porcelain, book-matched on the feature wall.

Bathroom renovation

One bathroom, photographed end to end. Slate-look porcelain, black fixtures, a curbed walk-in shower and a backlit mirror.

52 frames were shot. 29 are here.

The rest were near-repeats taken seconds apart, or had a tool bag in the corner, or simply said nothing the surviving frame did not say better. Three were cut because someone is reflected in the mirror. Cutting them is part of the work.

  • Frame 1257

    The best composition of the new vanity — black floating drawer, white stone top, backlit mirror — but the photographer is reflected at the right edge of the mirror, hand and phone. The mirror is the subject, so it cannot be cropped out. IMG_1258 covers the same room without it.

  • Frame 1264

    Ceiling, a light fitting and a window in an otherwise blank white corner. Correctly exposed and about nothing.

  • Frame 1266

    Same shower as IMG_1265 a stage later, but a bucket of tools and a heap of offcuts sit dead centre on the floor.

  • Frame 1270

    A good-luck phrase written on the old tile on day one, which is a nice thing to have happened and a poor photograph: the tub below it is stained and littered with debris.

  • Frame 0643

    The finished vanity straight on, and the best composition of the second bath — but there is a person reflected in the round mirror. Cannot be cropped out without destroying the frame.

  • Frame 0645

    Same room from the doorway, same problem: a reflection in the mirror. IMG_0639 covers this vanity without it.

  • Frame 0635

    Near-repeat of IMG_0633 from a step back. Four frames exist of this corner; one is enough.

    Third near-repeat of the same corner. Nothing in it the kept frame does not say.

    Tub interior looking down. Technically fine and completely inert — it is a photograph of an empty bathtub.

    Rough-in wall is genuinely interesting, but a red air mover and a coiled extension cord dominate the lower third.

    Floor layout with spacers. Superseded by the setting frames, which show the same work with better light.

    Superseded by IMG_5130, which reads the same book-matched wall squarer and cleaner.

    Half-tiled shower. The finished/unfinished contrast is better made by the before-and-after than by a mid-state frame.
